A Conversation About Emerging Models of Care for Transgender People

Joey was fortunate to be invited to speak about non-binary identities and access to health services at the National Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (ICAMHS) Leaders Day in Wellington on Friday 21st April 2017.

This is an excerpt from that presentation, focusing on the nuances of non-binary gender. The longer presentation also includes a discussion of the emerging models of care for transgender health services in New Zealand. (See this link to Werry Centre site.) Thanks to the Werry Centre for sponsoring Joey’s flight to Pōneke, and thanks to everyone who participated in these robust and creative conversations about providing competent care to young people and their whānau.
